This river in Denpasar, Bali, has already been cleaned with the incredible support of the city of Denpasar. However, many other rivers around the world are still in similar conditions. This fight requires a multi-stakeholder approach and we are trying our best to make sure that our rivers are protected and stay clean for future generations.
Keeping the rivers of Tabanan, Bali clean with @karmagawa one barrier at a time. We now have 17 barriers in partnership with Karmagawa that we are cleaning every day, stopping plastic from going into the ocean đŸ’Ș

We found Bali’s most polluted river, running through the heart of Denpasar. We never thought we would ever find a river this bad on our home island. We will be cleaning this up over the next few days. The pollution stretches for over 1 kilometer. This will require a lot of work and we need as much support as possible. A look into how we process the 2,000 kg of plastic we collect from Indonesia’s rivers every day ♻
We’re cleaning up Indonesia’s rivers, one river at a time. The constant pileup of trash in these rivers heavily impacts nearby farmland, the ocean, and local well water systems. We are committed to cleaning as many rivers as we can by removing the waste that’s there and installing our trash barriers to provide long term solutions. Once our barriers are installer, we clean them daily and bring the trash to our facilities to sort and process the trash for recycling. Let’s put an end to the plastic battle đŸ’ȘđŸŒ±
We collected 2.7 tons of plastic in 4 hours from this river in Pesanggaran, Bali, that was completely clogged with waste. We are now sorting through this plastic in our facilities to recycle it into products â™»ïžđŸŒŠ

We will be spending the next few weeks focusing on education and community outreach in this area to avoid this disaster from happening again
