I won't tell you how long ago that was! 🫣 I'd like to think we've come along way from that old-school way of thinking. We should be bringing our children up to believe they can do anything and find a way to make a living from it too.
I was lucky to go to a good school and did well in my exams, but at the time my school only believed in traditional career paths, like medicine, accountancy, law etc. In fact when I left for university my headteacher told me I was the first pupil to ever leave the school to do "fashion" 😂 I went on to get a degree and have a 10 year career as a Childrenswear Buyer at Next.
The reality of it is I've always loved sewing, making things and being creative. I know I'm lucky to have a good education too that has allowed me to channel my passions into a successful business. I hope my daughter goes on to to do something she is as passionate about. Leave a ❤️ if you agree

I've always loved reading and I remember my mum constantly asking me not to read my book at the dinner table as a child! I'm so pleased to see Arla love books just as much as I do.
Arla has this small bookshelf next to her bed where I change the books around every couple of weeks. She will always go for these books first before rummaging on the bigger bookshelf, so it's a lovely way to vary the books she's reading. Plus a bookshelf is great for updating the bedroom theme too!
