➡️ The “4-7-8” technique
Keep your back straight at first – as you get more comfortable with it, you can try it while lying down in bed.
1️⃣ Place your tongue against the ridge of tissue behind your upper front teeth. Keep it there throughout this exercise.
2️⃣ Completely exhale through your mouth. You should hear a “whoosh” sound.
3️⃣ Close your mouth and inhale quietly through your nose for a count of 4.
4️⃣ Hold your breath for a count of 7.
5️⃣ Exhale completely through your mouth for a count of 8.
6️⃣ Repeat steps 3 - 5!
✨ This technique is amazing because it acts as a natural tranquilizer for your nervous system. Breathing exercises increase oxygen levels in your body, get rid of accumulated stale air in your lungs, and help you regain control over your mind.
