Add. tip: NEVER hold the skin taut above the needle insertion site. This can lead to needle sticks. Holding it taut below the site is more than enough

help with traction? i have trouble with it cause if i thumb is below my insertion site, it gets in the wat😅

Also depends on the IV you’re using. You don’t always have to occlude because some devices do it for you.

Just the other day I didn't apply any pressure, just tell patient to raise hand so it doesn't flow like I used to do it, but this time it bled so much
