Overthinking and being overwhelmed by anxious thoughts is normal and not something to be ashamed of. Its pretty common for people to view overthinking as a negative but its something that we have all done at least once.
When dealing with an overthinker or a lot of anxiety, it is very important to remember to communicate what youโre feeling and it is just as important to listen. Most people who are overthinkers, need reassurance or a sense of security in knowing that they are safe and things are okay. Some people need to talk things out and rationalize so that they can prove to themselves they are okay. So communicating and figuring out what those thoughts are and finding ways to comfort them in a way that works for them will help navigate those thoughts.
