A day after the conclusion of the Indonesia Sustainability Forum (ISF 2023) and the ASEAN Summit held in Jakarta, Indonesia held earlier this month, the G20 Leaders Summit was hosted in India.

Launch of the Global Biofuel Alliance (GBA)
The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi of India, the world’s most populous country, along with the leaders of Singapore, Bangladesh, Italy, USA, Brazil, Argentina, Mauritius and UAE, launched the Global Biofuel Alliance on 9 September 2023, on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in New Delhi, India which is the world’s third largest consumer of crude oil.

The Global Biofuel Alliance (GBA) is an initiative by India as the G20 Chair. The Alliance intends to expedite the global uptake of biofuels through facilitating technology advancements, intensifying utilization of sustainable biofuels, shaping robust standard setting and certification through the participation of a wide spectrum of stakeholders. The alliance will also act as a central repository of knowledge and an expert hub. GBA aims to serve as a catalytic platform, fostering global collaboration for the advancement and widespread adoption of biofuels. In a report, the Indian Biogas Association (IBG), stated that G20 countries stand to unlock economic opportunities worth a staggering $500 billion

Thanks to the strategic alliance, the G20 countries stand to unlock economic opportunities worth a staggering US$500 billion in the next three (3) years.

Congratulations to Cynthia Houniuhi and for Pacific Island Students Fighting Climate Change @PISFCC for being featured in @TIME 100 Next Advocates.

Earlier this year, the Pacific Island Students Fighting Climate Change (PISFCC) demonstrated how powerful youth-led, collective action can be. The group’s president, Cynthia Houniuhi, saw the devastating impact of climate change on Pacific island communities and refused to sit idly by.

Cynthia and her peers were instrumental in driving a U.N. resolution calling on the International Court of Justice to issue an advisory opinion clarifying nations’ obligations to tackle climate change. What began as student advocacy quickly grew into a global campaign adopted by Pacific countries and hundreds of governments around the world, all demanding more be done to hold nations accountable for their action—or inaction—on the climate crisis. Climate solutions must be rooted in solidarity, justice, and compassion: values Cynthia and the PISFCC championed so boldly. Leaders must do what is needed to ensure the livable future young people deserve.

The world is seeing unprecedented risks and looming irreversible damages caused by record levels of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Indonesia is amongst countries with the largest renewable potential which amounts to over 440 GW. In recent years, Indonesia has committed to Net Zero by 2060 or earlier and signed up to Just Energy Transition Partnership with the target to mobilize USD 20 billion in climate financing.

Additionally, Indonesia is an economic powerhouse with GDP surpassing 1 trillion dollars, with over 270 million people and has averaged over 5% annual growth rate over the last 20 years. It is expected to become the 4th largest economy by 2045, which offers significant collaboration opportunities across key economic value chains.

Although Indonesia has made significant progress in meeting its climate goals, solving this fundamental challenge is critical to success in addressing the climate crisis.

To bolster both growth and sustainability, three pillars must be considered:

Reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) to achieve Net Zero goals;

Conserve biodiversity and ecosystems to preserve a liveable planet for future generations;

Advance new and greener economies such as downstreaming critical minerals, powering new energy vehicles, and developing future fuels technologies.

All three pillars must be supported by enablers, such as low-cost financing, leading research and development and advanced human resources. International partnership can be key to ensure capital mobilization as well as transfer of knowledge and technology in pursuing sustainable growth.

Indonesia invites renowned leaders from governments, international institutions, businesses and think tanks to Indonesia Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2023 to share success stories and learnings on decarbonization efforts thus far and facilitate avenues for more international collaboration.

Endorphins are chemicals (hormones) your body releases when it feels pain or stress. They’re released during pleasurable activities such as exercise, massage, eating and sex too. Endorphins help relieve pain, reduce stress and improve your sense of well-being.

Endorphins are created in your pituitary gland and hypothalamus, both located in the brain. Endorphins are a type of neurotransmitter, or messenger in your body. They attach to your brain’s reward centers (opioid receptors) and carry signals across your nervous system.

Endorphin comes from the words “endogenous,” which means within the body, and “morphine,” an opiate pain reliever. Put together, that means endorphins are natural pain relievers. They are “feel-good” chemicals because they can make you feel better and put you in a positive state of mind.

Endorphins are released when your body feels pain or stress. Your body releases endorphins to help you survive. When you feel pain, nerves in your body send pain signals to your brain. Your brain releases endorphins to block the nerve cells that receive the pain signals.

This essentially turns off your pain. It helps you to continue functioning, even in painful or stressful situations. Because you naturally seek to avoid pain, you’re more likely to do something if it makes you feel good.

THE PSYCHOLOGY BEHIND OVERCOMING FEAR
Learning how to overcome fear and anxiety can be an intimidating prospect if you don’t understand the mechanisms behind them. Before you berate yourself for feeling afraid, recognize that fear is a normal evolutionary response. Although it may not feel like it in the moment, your body and brain are communicating with you. When you learn to read the signals, conquering fear comes naturally.

@Tony Robbins has helped millions of people learn how to overcome fear and start creating lives they love. In his vast experience, fear goes beyond the physical signals we often feel in a scary situation. There are several types of fear.

HOW TO OVERCOME FEAR
UNLOCK THE PSYCHOLOGY OF FEAR AND 10 STEPS TO OVERCOME IT

Think about your biggest goal. Why haven’t you accomplished it yet? If you’re like most people, the answer is basic: fear. Fear is the limiting factor stopping you from working toward what you want. Fear distracts us and leads to excuses – but it doesn’t have to. Learning how to overcome fear is one of the most liberating pursuits you can undertake.
It’s easy to pretend fear isn’t influencing you and to make excuses as to why you haven’t achieved what you’re capable of. Instead of turning around and hiding from it, treat fear as a cue to take action, not an excuse. Look at your goal. If you let fear chase you away from achieving it, then you’ve effectively given in.

Fear of uncertainty, fear of failure and other common fears all stem from one area: the limiting beliefs holding you back. Ten steps will teach you how to conquer fear and move you closer to the life you want.

Before you berate yourself for feeling afraid, recognize that fear is a normal evolutionary response. Although it may not feel like it in the moment, your body and brain are communicating with you. When you learn to read the signals, conquering fear comes naturally.

Tony Robbins has helped millions of people learn how to overcome fear and start creating lives they love. In his vast experience, fear goes beyond the physical signals we often feel in a scary situation. There are several types of fear that are much more insidious.

PHYSICAL FEAR
When most of us think of fear, we think of physical threats, triggered by a known outside event – a loud noise, looking over the edge of a high place or standing in front of a crowd. Physical fear can even take the form of phobias – as many as 12% of adults experience a phobia at some point. Phobias are an extreme fear of a very specific situation, object or animal. Spiders, heights, public speaking and enclosed spaces are a few well-known phobias.

During a physical fear response you’ll feel your heart beat faster and your breathing quicken. You may feel a pit in your stomach, feel dizzy, sweat or get a dry mouth. Your muscles may feel more tense or weak. These are all results of your body’s “fight or flight” response. Without the fear response, you’d leave yourself wide open to danger. Yet in the modern world, fear can take many other forms – and some of them aren’t as obvious.

ANXIETY
Think of anxiety like long-term fear. It’s typically focused on the future rather than the present. Anxiety disorders are on the rise in America: As much as 18% of the population is affected each year. Anxiety and stress can have long-lasting consequences: When you live in a state of stress, your body releases a chemical called cortisol. Too much cortisol can cause problems sleeping and focusing, weight gain and even affect your immune response.
