The weather may have been cold, but the Beaver County and Capital Area Polar Plungers definitely brought the heat this weekend!
Between giant penguin suits, chili cookoffs, duck races, and the King of Plunge himself, this weekend was full of fun and excitement. That’s not even mentioning the fact that together, we raised over $250K for Special Olympics Pennsylvania athletes! There really is no better reason to #BeBoldGetCold .
Next up: Winter Games Polar Plunge this Saturday! 🥶❄️

Go Special Olympics USA! Athletes, coaches and staff from all over the country gathered in San Antonio earlier this month for the Special Olympics USA Team Trials ahead of next summer’s Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023.
Special Olympics Pennsylvania athletes Izaak Hobday and Loretta Claiborne were in Texas training for athletics and tennis, respectively. We wish them both luck as they continue their training!

Meet Coach Anthony Carney!
Tony has been coaching with Special Olympics Pennsylvania for 21 years in the Chester County region! He is currently volunteering as the assistant coach for the Chester County flag football team, and as the head coach of the basketball team. We caught up with Tony in between flag football games at the 2022 Fall Festival to learn a little bit more about what volunteering with Special Olympics has meant to him.
