Have you tried this new upscale Italian steakhouse located just outside of downtown Dallas? I started with the mini potatoes with truffle creme fraishe and caviar. The briny caviar with the creamy potato center and crisp exterior was an excellent way to start the meal and paired nicely with our champagne, next the ricotta & smoked hamhock broth with spring peas enveloped in pillowy pockets of pasta- SUPERB. I tried every side and the potato purée and creamed spinach were standouts. For main course I had the lamb shank & my date the filet mignon. Admittedly I felt my shank was a tad overcooked so they prepared a new one. Knocked it out the park. Seriously indescribable. Finished with the cheesecake. Didn’t think it could get better but somehow…wow! Please dine here. Dallas. We lucked out. Don’t let this spot close because the building is unassuming. Brilliantly curated menu. My easy #NOFAIL #primerib recipe! If you remember the turkey tip from Thanksgiving I got from my girl Gabi then this may seem familiar. I merged an already easy oven method with this.
1. Season liberally and age prime rib in refrigerator uncovered 30 hours (this is needed to dry out protein which will increase your chances for a thick dark crust)
2. Remove from fridge and come to room temp
3. Preheat oven 500 degrees and place cast iron inside no oil
4. Slather prime rib with 3/4 cup seasoned butter
5. Bake uncovered about 25 minutes then turn off heat and DO NOT REMOVE for two entire hours. I promise you this will be the most amazing thing ever.
Horseradish cream sauce: mix 2 tbsp mayonnaise, 1 tbsp horseradish, 2 tsp sour cream, chopped fresh dill
Also use pan drippings (au jus) for beef as well. Impressively good 👍🏽

Wow. The holiday White truffle tasting menu at #Bistro31 in #Dallas was immaculate. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a nice dining experience. Bonus points if you have someone who appreciates food as much as you do! My “dress” is actually an elastic waist silk skirt that I paired with a suit jacket.
