For me, some songs come pouring out in a matter of minutes, and others can take awhile. "Can't Go Back", which wound up being the first track on "Ages" oddly embodied both processes. The first verse and the chorus materialized in an instant and then there was this sort of void in my mind for awhile any time I tried to think of that song. The second verse came to me after awhile, but in pieces and then I couldn't think of a bridge for the life of me, so I called up my friend Kelsey to see if she was free for an afternoon and as soon as I showed her the verses and chorus she was like: "I'm just seeing headlights, screaming through the night on a freeway" ...and the bridge just materialized from there. #foryou #fyp #studio #musicstudio #band #indie #songwriter #songwritingprocess #cantgoback

At the end of the day, our experience with @Spotify removing our album and taking away a bunch of streams has reminded us how much of an "industry" the music industry really is 🙃 Most groups, no matter how much they wish they could help, don't want to go up against the big guys - in this case, Spotify. How can we make sure indie artists and smaller voices are able to get heard? An artists' union? Company shares given to artists when they release through a platform? This is the story of how our our album 'Ages' was taken down from @Spotify and we were wrongly accused of falsifying streaming numbers. It turned out our songs had been added to some playlists that were using bots to increase their numbers. But instead of penalizing the playlisters, Spotify punishes us, the artists, who have no control over where our music gets added.
