In this video, I turned to my trusty 3d printer BambuLab X1C to make a typewriter drive mechanism and explored if it's possible to make a catapult out of it.
As always, you can check out my website shine.rocks for the 3D model.

For this week, I 3D printed one of the most important components used in mechanical watches. It took me a few tries to get the tolerance just right for my BambuLab X1C printer and it looks incredibly cool to look at. As always, you can check out my website shine.rocks for the 3D model.

For this week, I 3d printed the slider crank mechanism. As a car enthusiast, the internal combustion engine always intrigued me and lead me look a little bit more closer into the inner workings of an ICE. And as always, you can get the model from my website shine.rocks.

Iâm starting a new series called âweekly printed mechanismsâ where I will be exploring mechanical mechanisms by 3d printing parts.
The mechanism weâre exploring today is gears, especially spur gears because they are easy to print. They derive their name from the shape of their teeth, which are straight and parallel to the gearâs axis. Itâs important to note that spur gears are just one type among many. Other gear variations include helical gears, bevel gears, worm gears, planetary gears, and the list goes on.
Gear up!
