@sophchangnyc is a screenwriter and author who is developing numerous TV properties, including a scripted series at FX based on her Audible memoir "The Baddest Bitch In The Room. Her career in the music industry started in the late 1980s; she worked with some of the biggest acts of hip-hop and R&B, including Ol' Dirty Bastard (RIP), GZA, D'Angelo, Raphael Saadiq, Q Tip and A Tribe Called Quest. She worked in marketing at Atlantic, A&R at Jive, and A&R Admin at Universal, as well as serving as General Manager of RZA's Razor Sharp Records, Cinematic Music Group, and Joey Bada$$' Pro Era Records. Sophia penned her book 'The Baddest Bitch in the Room: A Memoir' to share the inspiring story of her career in the music business.

Tarriona (from the band Tank & The Bangas) wrote and recited a short poem as part of the #shesaidso x Vans partnership for the Chicago takeover in March 2022. Watch this video with Tarriona's poem recital, which utilised AI imagery to create surreal interpretations of the photos from the band's 'Red Balloons' album.
The Red Balloons album is nominated for a 2023 Grammy in the βBest Progressive R&B Albumβ category. We were so honored to host Tarriona at our space and wish her the best with the Grammy nomination.

The music industry has been traditionally dominated by large labels and other players, leaving independent and smaller artists with limited opportunities and access to resources. As technology has advanced, more artists have had the ability to produce and promote their music and reach a larger audience, creating more of a level playing field.

Vix joined the shesaid.so team in July 2021 for a month internship and was then fully welcomed into the team after the internship ended. Aside from shesaid.so, they have been working in the London music industry as an Events Assistant for multiple music venues and as a live entertainer. They have experience in booking, managing and running live events in venues from 350 capacity to as large as 3000 capacity.
