A few weeks ago, we were at Ngee Ann Polytechnic to interview students about Filming and Micro Films, as well as sharing with them the Fifth Micro Film Competition jointly organised by Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations (SFCCA), Lianhe Zaobao and Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC).
Interested participants are to submit a video between 30 seconds to 10 minutes on the theme of ‘My Singapore Rhapsody’. There are prizes worth $30,000 to be won! Registrations are now open till 22 October.

Mark your calendars for the last two exciting sharing sessions of the Microfilm Competition on 7th October! Trina Ha is the legal director of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS), and also the Honorary Legal Adviser of the Asian Film Archive. Trina Ha is currently listed in the IAM Strategy 300: The World’s Leading IP Strategists guide since 2020. During Trina’s English sharing session, she will share insights on IP rights in film production.
Singaporean Filmmaker Eva Tang loves literature and movies. Her prose was unanimously awarded First Prize for Hong Kong's most esteemed Chinese Literature Award when she was an undergraduate at the University of Hong Kong. Her student film While You Sleep (2002) was the first short film by a Singaporean filmmaker to be officially selected for the Venice Film Festival. The Songs We Sang (2015) is her debut feature documentary, hailed by the local media and audience as one of the year's best films.
Eva Tang, together with Li Jia and Michael Chua, who are award winners of My Singapore New Norm Micro Film Competition, will share of insights and knowledge on microfilm production.

新加坡导演邓宝翠喜爱文学与电影，曾在香港大学求学时荣获香港最高荣誉中文文学奖散文冠军。她的学生短片《当你沉睡时》是首部入选第59届威尼斯电影节的新加坡短片。邓宝翠执导的新加坡首部以校园民谣为题材的纪录片——《我们唱着的歌》被本地媒体和观众誉为当年最佳影片之一。

The biennial Singapore Micro Film Competition returns for its 5th edition this year, the theme – “My Singapore Rhapsody”, hopes to celebrate our unique fusion of cultures and traditions that make Singapore a colourful and diverse garden city it is today.
Aspiring film-makers and seasoned directors alike, are invited to showcase the rich diversity of Singapore’s people and local culture through their entries.
Jointly organised by Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations, Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre and Lianhe Zaobao, the Singapore Micro Film Competition is officially open for registration. With close to $30,000 worth of cash prizes waiting to be won, register now!
