👩🏼🌾 Garden Girl Season 👩🏼🌾
Gardening has become my absolute favorite part of summer!
It’s wonderfully rewarding sowing seeds in the ground and watching them magically turn into food for you and your loved ones.
I grew lots of lettuces and herbs this season so I could have the fixings for a delicious salad whenever I’m craving one (which is practically every day in this heat, tbh).
Here’s my recipe for a tasty green goddess salad dressing that I made mostly from fresh garden ingredients!
You’ll need:
•1 cup full fat plain greek yogurt
•1 cup flat leaf parsley
•1 cup of soft leaf herbs (I used a mix of dill, tarragon, cilantro & mint)
•1/4 cup chives
•2tbsp fresh lemon juice + 1tsp of lemon zest
•1tbsp of good olive oil
•2 anchovy filets (you can sub for a couple teaspoons of capers)
•1 whole garlic clove
•1/4 tsp salt
•lots of black pepper
Blend everything in a blender or food processor and toss with your greens or use as a tasty dip for your veggies! 😋

It’s prime time for rhubarb harvest, and I truly love this hardy perennial. It reminds me of early summertime in the Midwest and hanging in grandpa’s backyard.
I’ve been snatching up all the fresh rhubarb to freeze and have on hand until next season rolls around (it freezes well for up to a year!)
This cosmo recipe uses a homemade rhubarb simple syrup instead of a traditional simple syrup and it’s dangerously delicious and refreshing. You won’t be able to enjoy just one!
Here’s the recipe:
1.5oz citrus vodka
.5oz dry vermouth
.5oz fresh lime juice
.75oz unsweetened cranberry
.5oz homemade simple
Add to a cocktail shaker with ice and double strain into a chilled coupe or ‘tini glass. Garnish with lime wheel.
Rhubarb simple syrup recipe:
1lb fresh rhubarb cut into 1 inch chunks
1 & 1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
•add to a medium saucepan and heat over medium low, stirring occasionally
•simmer until rhubarb cooks down and become soft and jammy (about 10 minutes)
•strain through a fine mesh strainer
•cool to room temp before using
