Sam and I had the perfect mother-daughter getaway thanks to our friends at @visitwilmingtonde. During our trip we explored the Wilmington and the Brandywine Valley.
Here’s our itinerary to help plan your next trip:
🛌 Stay at @courtyard_newark_ud - this hotel is conveniently located near some of Delawares popular sites. There’s an on-site gym and pool plus an on-site restaurant/bar.

- Explore the enchanted forest and admire the beautiful spiral staircase inside @winterthurmuse
- See the lemurs, bald eagle and red panda at @brandywinevalley
- Take a stroll, play a round of mini golf or just enjoy the scenic River views along @riverfrontwilmington
- Visit @delartmuseum to see some cool art pieces and American Art Illustrations
- Enjoy the scenery, love music with a glass of wine at @pennswoodswine

🗓️ Mark your calendars for Tuesday November 28th - #TravelTuesday for some great travel deals on airfare and hotels.
2024 is expected to be a busy travel year so to make sure you are getting some great deals start planning now if you expect to travel between Jan-Jul.
Planning about 7-8 months in advance will score you some good flight and hotel deals. I like using the Hopper App and Google Flights to track and search for flight deals. Based on the deals I then book directly with the airlines. This is also a great time to use your points or rewards.
For hotels I like to compare prices on Goseek, Kayak, Expedia & Trivago. I usually try to book directly with the hotel and opt for reservations that offer free cancellations. (Sites like Expedia offer price match - I’ve been able to get $$ back thanks for this feature)
I also like to book experiences ahead of time to avoid things being booked up and sold out.

The @WalkwayOverTheHudson is a 1.28 mile long walkway which is FREE to explore! It’s 212 feet above the Hudson River and offers panoramic views of the surrounding area.
The walkway is perfect for all ages, pets & bike riding. They even have an elevator offering views of the Poughkeepsie-Highland Railroad Bridge that was operational until the 1970s.
You can easily access the walkway via car or train. Stop at @rossiandsons_rosticceria for a grab and go lunch that you can enjoy on your walk.
