Our amazing volunteers, Lauren and Steele took Apollo and French Fry for an adventure to Myakkahatchee, VIP, and then got to help dress them for the Bert's Harley event.
Here's what they had to say: The dynamic duo, Apollo & French Fry went back out on the trails together Saturday morning. They walk well & do all of the basic commands while on the trails. They are looking really great!...their fur is getting thick & they are filling out. Both of them are sweet. Apollo has lost the puppy nippiness & is always ready to conquer the world. French Fry is a little more chill, but holds focus well.

Our amazing volunteers , Lauren and Steele took puppies Apollo and French Fry to Myakkahatchee and VIP on Saturday.
These 2 transported easily in crates. They did really well together on the trails & individually in the training classes.
Apollo is a rock star with his commands. He will place, sit & down with confidence. He has swagger when walking the trails & the obstacle course in class.
French Fry is calm & sweet. He was constantly sniffing & following scent on the trails. He did a good job learning place, sit & down today. He is very treat motivated. He is a kisser without any puppy nipping. He aced the obstacle course as well without hesitation.

"He is full of energy & his confidence exceeds his size! He is a good walker. He is very food motivated & is an eager quick learner. Was great getting in the crate (for the drive). On the trails, he got started on basic commands. By the time he finished VIP today, he can Place, Sit & Down. Touching him gets him super excited, but he is very affectionate & loves to give kisses. He will make someone a very lucky dog owner!"

Meanwhile, back at the rescue….
Today we were able to help save 8 dogs. We wish we could have taken more but we do not have the space. We are working on changing that. Thank you for your support and donations. Thank you to our dedicated volunteers who show up rain or shine (why does it always seem like rain 🌧️ 😝).
Huge thank you to Sharon, Sue, Donna, Maureen, Natalie, Marina, and Kryss for helping get these sweet dogs processed…in the rain.
Extra huge thank you to Hearts For Hometown Dogs for saving these dogs! For reaching out and for checking personalities for us, for sending pics and making pleas, and most importantly- transporting these dogs all the way from Perry, FL Taylor County- thank you Andrea for arranging!

Reagan, one of our great Malinois, had an adventure at Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park and VIPet Services last Saturday!
He went with Our amazing volunteers Lauren and Steele, and here's some of what they had to say: “Regan did an amazing job at VIP training...He can place, sit & down. He was extremely relaxed among all the dogs there..There were 5 others there from tiny Chihuahua to large great dane. Reagan did well on trail, but does walk fast and is still learning heel."
Reagan also knows wait and release cue 'go ahead' and sits automatically when he stops. He likes to work and would do best with an active family.
