TSUKEMEN: Derived from the Japanese words TSUKERU which means dipping and MEN which means noodles.
For this Japanese dish, A bowl of noodles is served with a separate bowl of soup.
Also known as Dipping Ramen Noodles, Tsukemen differs from your regular ramen because the noodles are dipped into a hot soup before eating. The soup is thicker than your usual ramen soup, tangier, and the umami is strong. Also, noodles are way thicker and chewier than ramen noodles since after boiling, noodles are washed with cold running water to remove extra starch and tighten the noodles to keep their quality intact.
Serving the noodles separately from the soup will also make it retain its chewy texture. When you are ready to eat, that's the only time you get a small portion of noodles, good for one (1) bite, and dip into the very thick soup.
The thick soup is made from a combination of Pork, Chicken, Prawns, and vegetables.
