Jenny Lake at Grand Teton National Park is beautiful and a great place to spend the day if you’re visiting Jackson Hole.
We got there around 3pm and the parking was a nightmare, but we did find a spot along the road heading to the visitor center. So the ealier you get there, the better parking will be!
There are several hikes you can take from the Lake and of varying levels of difficulty. You can also take a boat ride out, kayaks or hang out at the shore. The water feels amazing in the summer!

Unfortunately for Kipchoge, the IAAF has strict guidelines for what qualifies as an official marathon time. While his feat of completing a marathon in under 2 hours is extraordinary, he had several factors that contributed to this accomplishment.
For one, he had a continual rotation of pacers running with him - many who are olympians themsleves - and the IAAF rules forbid pacesetters from hopping in midway through a race. He also had a lead car showing his time as well as laser beams that projected onto the road, the ideal running positions for his pacesetters.
Kipchoge also had no competitors on the course with him. This course in Vienna was specifically chosen to help him break 2 hours. He was also handed unlimited drinks and energy supplements throughout the run.
Kipchoge knew well ahead of time that the results would not count. None of this dimishes his incredible accomplishment - a sub 2 hour marathon is mind blowing and at the end of the day, was history making. Unfortunately, it just doesn’t count as the official world record! The Liberty Island museum is an amazing visit that I was not expecting to be as good as it was.
