Project HOPE is coordinating a response to meet the dire needs of the people in Gaza. With two of the biggest hospitals no longer functioning, the health needs are urgent and compounding.   We have shipments set to deliver this week with medicines, medical supplies, and equipment, as well as hygiene kits that include water and purification tablets.   We have medical teams on standby and are prepositioning additional shipments.   Learn more about the situation and our response at the link in our bio.

This year, we celebrate Project HOPE’s 65th anniversary and the remarkable accomplishments our organization has contributed to the advancement of global health.

Project HOPE has been on the ground in Armenia to help assess the most urgent needs facing the nearly 120,000 refugees who fled Azerbaijan’s Nagorno-Karabakh region in September. Project HOPE is now supporting winterization activities, starting with the distribution of heaters in the region of Sunyk, while continuing to work in coordination with WHO and UN agencies in the region to address any outstanding gaps. In response to the escalating violence in Sudan, Project HOPE has successfully coordinated the delivery of $13 million (24,000 pounds) worth of vital medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, hygiene supplies, and therapeutic food to Sudan in a collaborative effort with key partners.

The shipment will support over 100,000 people across Sudan where communities are grappling with under-resourced health facilities and cholera and dengue outbreaks.

“This shipment is a lifeline for many hospitals that are lacking the supplies and resources to address the influx of patients seeking care and lifesaving medication for everything from cholera to gunshot wounds to pregnancy,” said Arlan Fuller, Director of Emergency Preparedness and Response for Project HOPE.
October 10th is internationally recognized as World Mental Health Day. Mental health is a universal human right and the Project HOPE Ukraine MHPSS team came together to raise awareness. With your support, Project HOPE has established 10 Mental Health Support Centers in Ukraine.

On September 8th, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck near Adassil, Morocco, about 50 miles south of Marrakech.

Our partner, SAMU, is on the ground and has been providing care to impacted communities in and around Adassil, for several days.

The situation is changing rapidly and we are pre-positioning resources to respond to immediate health needs.
