Have you ever tried putting plastic eyes on a cute cotton toy, only to realize that the eyes don't sit well on the surface? The eye pops out of the fabric and looks awful!
Well, I've got a tip on how to fix that.
Use a piece of felt or other thick fabric to create a support. Simply use a scrap of felt, make a small hole in the middle for the shank of the eye to pass through, and place it onto the shank of the craft eye, before adding the washer.

If you're into sewing clothes for your dolls like I am, you might know that jersey fabrics are great to work with. They're stretchy and comfortable, and perfect for small garments. But, what if you don't have a serger machine to sew them?
No worries! I'm here to help. 😊
When working with jersey fabrics, using a regular straight stitch can cause your seams to break after a little bit of tension. So, instead, try lowering the stitch length to small and setting the stitch to a zig-zag. This will make your stitch more elastic and able to endure more tension.
This method is not only great for sewing stretchable clothes for your dolls, but also for sewing t-shirts and jersey dresses for yourself or your kids even if you don’t have a serger.

Here comes my special turning hack! All you need is a ballpoint pen. Take out the ink cartridge and all the pieces so that you're left with just the pen tube.
Next, push the pen tube into the part you want to turn and use a chopstick to push the tip of the sewn piece into the end of the pen tube. Gently push the blunt end of the chopstick into the pen tube as far as it will go. Now, you can use your fingers to push the rest of the piece over the part that is already turned right side out.

Who says you need a serger machine to achieve a clean and polished finish? There are actually several ways to do it, and I'm here to share with you my top two favorite techniques depending on the project and fabric I'm using:
#1 Zigzag stitch: Perfect for medium to heavy-weight fabrics, simply adjust your sewing machine to a zigzag stitch and sew along the raw edge to enclose the seam allowance. Trim excess fabric near the stitches for a clean finish.
#2 Pinking shears: Prevent fraying and add a decorative edge on lightweight to medium-weight fabrics like cotton, linen, and rayon. Just remember, they don't fully enclose the seam allowance like a serger or zigzag stitch, so use them accordingly.

The easiest way to transfer the face onto a fabric is to use a light source such as a window (or you can use a light box or computer screen as well).
