I used to this all the time during my MFA years, you wont believe all the nice stuff art students throw away everyday, and I had no money for anything back then so why not.
Nowadays I use a lot of recycled materials and cheap stuff to paint and I honestly feel very happy with it.
So if you ever feel like painting, grab whatever you have at hand and go for it.
