3 years ago today I was sitting in the TLC apartment wondering what surgery was going to be like. Hoping for relief in my lower legs … hoping to see a slight be of change.
I had no idea that the next day would legit be the start of a new life.
For me surgery by Dr Jaime Schwartz of @totallipedemacare was hands down the best decision I have ever made. Not only is the Lipedema pain nonexistent but my lymphedema is so much easier to manage.

I remember this day like it was yesterday. I foolishly thought that creating an outline to track my surgery progress would be no big deal. It instantly brought me to tears.
Ha! Seeing the width of my hips in real size was a punch to the gut. I had always just thought of myself as shoulder width apart but to be able to stand with my shoulders in my hips and see the difference was just 🤯

No Lipedema doesn’t just occur in larger people but skinny people or people with #disorganizedeating can have it as the photo I show at the end proves.

be prepared for a fight. Be prepared to defend yourself.
Until more of the medical community knows about Lipedema it’s gonna be a struggle.

For as long as I could remember I knew something was wrong with my body as it just didn’t respond properly.
Once the anger died down, the diagnosis of Lipedema was a relief.
Finally confirmation that I wasn’t the problem but Lipedema and it’s nodules were.
1 in 9 women have Lipedema, wondering if you do?
Signs Lipedema could be your problem:
- Disproportionate lower body & upper arms
- Tenderness when pressure is applied to legs/arms and maybe abdomen
- Pea like nodules under the skin as you feel your body
- Easy bruising
- Very little to no response to diet and/or exercise
- Ankle cuffing
- Column like legs
- B belly (stomach looks like a uppercase B from the side)

The me 3 years ago never would have believed my life could be what it is today.
