Instructions:
Tacos:
-Wash, snap off the ends of your Ontario asparagus, and slice them in half.
-On top of your tortilla, add flatten your meat and then add your asparagus slices.
-Place the tortilla burger side down on a pan and sear on medium heat, for about 2-3 minutes, depending on how thick your meat and asparagus layer is.
-Flip over and add cheese. Once the cheese is melted and the tortilla is crispy, remove it from the heat and add additional toppings with your Big Mac sauce. Enjoy!

Did you know that asparagus is a perennial plant that lives for up to twenty years when managed properly? While that is a long time, this crop still requires a massive commitment.
✳️ The first 2-3 years after planting aren’t harvested in order for the asparagus crown to mature fully.
✳️ When asparagus is harvested, the season only lasts 6-7 weeks, and then farms must tend to the fern that grows for the rest of the summer, as it helps to recharge the root - to grow successfully again in the following year.
✳️ Finally, when acreage from asparagus is retired, the soil can not successfully grow asparagus again, and other crops need to be planted in its place. Asparagus needs to be planted in a new location every time!
