Remember these 3 things for your next ride on the flat!🐴🌟 1. When you’re riding any horse always remember to ride 90 degree angles for your corners! establish your bend before the corner, half halt coming in, and ask for power coming out of each corner that you ride. Accuracy & consistency is key for making good corners a habit for you and your horse! 2. Transitions!! Try to ask for a transition whether it is an extended walk to collected walk, walk to canter, collected trot to extended trot or trot to passage, every 6-8 strides. This is a great way to get your horse more adjustable and on the aids. Creating accountability by counting your strides in transitions is a game changer for the horse & rider. 3. A good walk is made up of 4 clear beats, over tracking, reaching to the bridle & is adjustable from collected, free & extended walk. Let’s focus on establishing a high quality walk before we begin any kind of work.
