i did #hyrox and spent months training for it. and i'm gonna do it again soon cause it made me feel SO GOOD and gave me yet another joy to scheudle

today in patreon I dropped an episode about my current schedule. which took me years and years to build.

being in charge of my own income has changed my life dramatically.

🎈yes it took a LONG time to get here. I experimented a lot.

🎈I took class with my best friend @ashli_p who would later become my @thewomenarespeaking co-creator.

🎈I spent so much time on things that never saw the light of day 🤣 it felt like failure but it was growth in a very confusing costume.

🎈and yes, sometimes it becomes my main focus and acting has to sit alongside it in my brain/schedule. but longevity and sustainability go hand I hand with all my work and this is exactly as it needs to be.

🎈do not compare your work to mine. I come from a privileged background and don’t have student loan debt. I have a husband with an income stream and received pandemic unemployment to get my head above water for the first time in years. I have only three furry dependents. but if this inspires you to start considering what you are capable of, that is my goal.

I haven’t been on a theatrical set since summer of 2021. BOOM 💥 she said it 💥

This would have put me in the GROUND to admit a few years ago. I would have talked myself out of posting or podcasting or writing. Cause I didn’t “deserve” to call myself an actor.

🪦 RIP to that mindset.

If you’re working your side job today so you can afford Actors Access, you’re an actor.

If you’re cleaning your closet and keeping your ugly polos cause you know they’re great for Best Buy auditions, you’re an actor.

If you’re on the picket lines for the WGA, you’re an actor.

If you’re doing a photoshoot or filming with some friends, you’re an actor.

Today I will go to the gym, answer emails, walk my dogs, go to improv class, run errands and cook dinner and I am a mother f*cking actor. 🔥
