Several mares and foals were rounded up off a reservation and shipped to various horse auctions around the country, the majority ending up in the slaught er pipeline. Colby’s Crew Rescue with help from their wonderful patrons took several into their organization, and we can’t wait to share their journey with you from wild to wonderful. #ohkaytacos #rescuehorse created by Ohkaytacos with mathias i think's a life worth living

Some clips from Ally and Colby’s ride today. Can you believe this August marks THREE YEARS of Colby and Ally? Colby was rescued in 2020 from being rendered for his meat. My wife Ally paid $875 to spare his life and learned very quickly that Colby had suffered through 4 years of terrible mistreatment by former owners. Over the last three years she has created an unbreakable bond with Colby and there is nothing he wouldn’t do for her. After training, she found a loving forever home that was able to track down her AQHA papers and she is now a blue ribbon winning show horse. Apollo the mule foal was born gigantic- 10.2 hands at 6 days old - but his internal organs did not develop as quickly as his external body. This caused him to over nurse and made his belly very angry causing colic like symptoms. Thanks to Ally and her incredible team at the rescue, vets, vet staff, and our own staff— we were able to identify he was in trouble quickly and get him on sight to a major equine medical clinic. There, with an entire team of vets by his side, he fights for his life. We will be posting more updates as we get them.
