Remembering Norman Whitfield, our brother, a prolific award-winning producer, songwriter and arranger, who with the release of Ain’t Too Proud To Beg in 1966 was bent on taking us in a new direction. When Norman became our primary songwriter and producer, he left an indelible mark on The Temptations music and legacy, and on the music industry as a whole. From “Cloud Nine,” “Just My Imagination (Running Away From Me),” “I Wish It Would Rain,” Papa Was a Rollin Stone,” “Ball of Confusion,” to “I Can’t Get Next To You,” “Beauty Is Only Skin Deep,” and many other chart hits, we were honored to work with him. His innovative approach to songwriting and production helped us, and Motown, earn our first Grammy Award. We miss you, but your music and all the great memories live on and continue to inspire us.
