These lime gummies are reminiscent of childhood in the 90s, but without all the funky ingredients. They’re actually supportive to a healthy metabolism.🙌
Why?
Carbs, like maple syrup, honey, and fruit, provide an easy fuel source for our cells to turn into energy. It is the body’s preferred source of fuel and doesn’t take a ton of effort to break down - great for someone with fatigue that doesn’t have a lot of energy to expend on digestion.
Unlike a lot of sweet treats, these gummies are balanced well with protein. The gelatin balances out the natural sugar in the maple syrup and provides for stable blood sugar, which we need for good energy.
The lime juice also provides us with lots of Vitamin C, which is amazing for immune health, dealing with stress, thyroid hormone production, keeping copper balanced, neutralizing free radicals, and more.
Here’s how to make them:
1️⃣Add 1¼ Cup 100% lime juice to a pot.
2️⃣Cover with ½ Cup grass-fed gelatin.
3️⃣Let it sit for 10 minutes to bloom (allows it to dissolve easily and prevents clumps).
4️⃣Add 1¼ cup water and ½ Cup maple syrup to the pot.
5️⃣Bring it to a simmer and cook until the gelatin has melted and everything has blended together.
6️⃣Pour the mixture into a pan or molds.
7️⃣Stick it in the fridge to set for about 2 hours.
8️⃣Cut it into bite-sized pieces, and enjoy!
Let me know if you try these and what you think!
