This postpartum body after a myomectomy and multiple C sections feels foreign to me. I don’t recognize her with all of its extra skin and stretch marks. I am someone who has been fit most of my life. And with each child it gets harder to get back to the way that I was. I didn’t want to post most of these videos because I haven’t gotten back to my goal. I lost all of my baby weight within weeks of delivery only to gain it all back when I went back to work. I have had to have a true mindset shift to accept my new “normal” I recognize my body has done so much for me and has given me so much. I don’t have the abs I had when I did CrossFit consistently nor am I as toned as I was before having children. But I wake up everyday and show up for myself. Those of you who watch my stories know that I have been truly putting in the work. And it’s frustrating when it doesn’t translate into what I think my body should look like. To all my postpartum mamas (whether your kid is 6 months or 12 years old), we should give ourselves grace and be kind to our bodies. No matter what the scale says you keep showing up for yourself. Even on the days I am tired. Even on the days I do not feel like it. I don’t have a goal to get back to my 25 year old version of a perfect body.
