Music Supervisors Unionizing for fair and equal rights!

The need to find the perfect music for specific scenes in production is a demand that calls on the craft and expertise of the Music Supervisor. We are essential to the story and help elevate the success of many productions. However, studio heads do not want to give us union recognition that they give our fellow crew members despite us having to adhere to the same demands such as being on set, adhering to call times, having to use internal company software, and are required to meet similar deadlines/deliverables. We continue to fight to get paid fairly and on time and are also denied rights to benefits that would help with health and retirement needs. One can not deny that Music Supervisors are essential to the the filmmaking process and the overall success of a story. When the right music is married with the right script and art direction this can elevate the success of a story and break viewer records for the studios. The very reason why the studios, ie @netflix needs to treat their Music Supervisors equally to the other crew members they rely on.

- Health insurance. Getting paid on time, based on set payment guidelines. Over time, holiday and weekend pay. Pension. Ability to retire…
