The first annual Multicultural Celebration at Nettle Middle School was such a great turnout with wonderful enthusiasm from the community. The city of Haverhill continues to grow more and more diverse (racial, ethnic, language, socio-economic, religious, etc). Students helped organize and emcee the event. They also shared some of their work.Faculty, staff and parents also made many contributions to ensure that the event was a success. There are a lot of educators trying to make a difference by building community. Shoutout to Angela McVey, Eileen Doherty for their leadership and the rest of the team at Nettle Middle School for their work on the frontlines with the youth. See you next school year! A quick shoutout to Angela McVey, Eileen Doherty and the faculty, staff students and parents at the Nettle Middle School. We had an engaging time with the Blue Ink Literacy Time Workshops on Thursday, June 1st. I also had the opportunity to participate in the schools first annual multicultural celebration. I'm particularly appreciative to the thoughtful students that made me a thank you card. You filled my cup. Keep up the great work! Hope to see you next school year.

Lastly, I want to recognize a former student of mine, Kermit Vargas, who served as my videographer. We have a lot more footage to come. I'm so proud of what he is doing in life and excited to see his business, Vargas Visuals, grow.
