Replying to @edwinogrimes How to measure your nipple for a Milkdrop cushion. 1. Grab a ruler. 2. Roll your nipple between your fingers to stimulate it. 3. Measure from one side to the other at the base where the nipple meets the areola 4. Choose the next largest cushion. (Keep in mind that 90% of people will need a size small) *Remember only measure the nipple and not the areola (which is the dark coloured area around the nipple). ** and don’t pump before you measure as it can swell the nipple. Reply to @diesarina Here’s what’s happening to your nipple when you use a breast pump with a milkdrop cushion. Your areola is supported but your nipple draws through. That means less swelling and more comfort. 😌 btw you should try make sure you have your breast pump flange correctly “sized” for you with the help of a lactation consultant. A little bit OTT, but what's not OTT is the amount of research that's needed to bridge the gap on research into women's nipples, specifically around pumping. There is more publicly available research on identifying the female nipple in algorithms to be censored on social media, and much more research on what constitutes the “ideal” nipple for reconstructive surgery, than there is on shape and size (anthropometrics) of the actual nipple, let alone the lactating nipple, but we want to change that.
