We're back with another meet-the-staff post. If you follow our Tik Tok you may already know her... Donna is our marketing and sales manager, and she's been at Matthews since 2020! Her favorite plant is the sunshine ligustrum, because of its unique pop of bright leaves and low maintenance.
Sunshine ligustrum is an evergreen shrub that keeps its gorgeous bright yellow and green hues all year. These shrubs are happy in full sun to partial shade, tolerant to drought and high heat, and resistant to disease and pests. Another upside to growing sunshine ligustrums is that they grow naturally compact, meaning they require less pruning than other shrubs. If you're a busy person, these could be the sunny shrub for you. #gardening #meetthegroup #CaddoParish

Good morning! Today we have another staff introduction. Kate is our client services representative and she's been with Matthews since 2021. Her favorite plant is pink muhly grass, an ornamental plant that thrives in Louisiana.
Pink muhly grass blooms in the fall, so you might see their pretty pink plumes if you drive around town now. These plumes last for about 6-8 weeks in the fall. This plant prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. Muhly grass is very low maintenance and can withstand drought well once established. It's also rare for this grass to deal with pest or disease issues. If you love pink like Kate, this is the ornamental for you!

Even with the rain we got over the weekend, it’s still important to keep running your sprinkler system if you can. Running it in the early morning is the best time, because the water doesn’t evaporate in the heat of the day. At night, your water pressure might not be as high as it could be. Our final tip is that watering for longer, less days a week is better. This lets the moisture soak down to the grass roots. Hope this helps! #CaddoParish #sprinkler #lawn
Today we wanted to give you a reminder about termites. As we move farther away from Spring, termites might be less visible, and less likely to be on your mind. This does not mean they're dormant or not there, because termites are a year-round problem. These bugs can cause thousands of dollars in damage to homes. The best way to deal with termites is to use preventative treatment; this will keep them from moving in in the first place. If you'd like to set up an inspection for termites, don't hesitate to give us a call (318-286-0967) or head to our website. We hope this helps! #pestcontroltips #pestcontrol #matthewspestcontrol #CaddoParish #termites #Louisiana

Happy Fixer-Up Friday! School is back in session and we hope everyone has a great school year. Check out this transformation at Southfield. Happy hump day!
We get asked a lot why people's new homes have so many spiders and other bugs. The answer is that new homes are built on top of the spider's home habitat. While the walls are being built, the spiders end up moving in before you even move into the house.
But a full pest control treatment can kill unwanted guests in the home. Have any other questions? Let us know. #shreveportpestcontrol #bossierpestcontrol #pestcontrol #spiders #shreveport #matthewspestcontrol #fypシ
