Sorry if you were expecting a number from this dispenser, we only have jokes.
But we’re starting to learn just how important humor can be for our health and longevity. Laughter is one of the clearest signs of amusement, an emotion we feel thanks to the combined activity of cannabinoids, opioids, and dopamine.
A growing body of research is demonstrating how even a single session of genuine and spontaneous laughter — the product of neurotransmitter activity — can significantly lower our levels of cortisol. Cortisol negatively affects the quality of our sleep, weight loss or gain, and immune response.
So, it turns out laughter really is good for us.
