Sharing my process creating this commission for the Herrero family! The theme of this work is “SAME SUMMIT.” The Herreros are a unique family, special because of their clarity on their family values, and their embrace of challenge. As I reflected on our conversation, an image of them being on a permanent family adventure came to mind. In this image they each were on their own individual paths climbing a mountain, where they meet at the top to celebrate together.
I wanted to honor both the powerful individuality of each member of their family, and their strength as a unit, upholding and supporting and sharpening each other.
