Shh….All sleep training methods boil down to ONE idea: change your child’s template for how sleep happens at bedtime so that they get the hang of falling asleep where they will wake up. Boom.
You don’t even need a book for this. FOLLOW ME for more common sense sleep training side-eye.

The sleep information out there can be overwhelming. It really boils down to THREE essential ideas: naps, bedtime, and middle of the night. That’s it.

Research shows that early work on sleep training does not really pay off. Just because a book is called “12 Hours Sleep by 12 Weeks” doesn’t mean that’s possible or even a good idea for lots of babies. Take your time, do what works. You can’t create a “habit” that can’t be shifted easily(ish) in a few more months. #12hourssleepby12weeks #sleeptraining #sleeptrainingmyths #newborns #newparent
Self-soothing is not learned in isolation. It's learned in relationship. Don't let anyone tell you that helping your little one regulate is a bad habit or prevents them from learning themselves. Self-soothing is learned through *tolerable* amounts of frustration....not through getting hysterical.

The research on prevention hasn’t really shown that there are benefits that stick. Improvements in sleep were small and often disappeared after a month or two. Real talk? You definitely don’t *have to* start early with sleep training. It could honestly be more work than it’s worth. #newbornsleep #newmama #firsttimeparent #sleeptraining #babysleep #fyp
If you have a little one who is just “on” — always active, big feelings, never sleeps — and you feel like you’re just not getting this parenting thing right. Stop. Parenting advice is NOT written about kiddos like this. They are not talking about your little force of nature. YOU are rocking it. There are also millions of parents just like you who ALSO think they’re the only ones struggling. You’re not alone. #FOMO #tiredmama #bigfeelings #spiritedbaby #energizerbunny
Four steps you can take to fix sleep (in order of how hard they are). Sleep training doesn’t have to equal crying-it-out (Ferber, Taking Cara Babies, etc.). You can decide how much help to give your child while they fall asleep. But first, take some steps to set yourself and your child up for success. You can work on sleep in a gradual, commonsense way. #sleeptraining #firsttimeparent #gentlesleeptraining #babysleeptips #toddlersleeptips
Parents of newborns: Don’t worry about sleep. Your baby needs your help with regulation for a while. It is okay (actually, fantastic) for you to help your tiny one make all of these transitions between awake and asleep, between hungry and full. Helping them is not a “bad habit.” It’s what we do as parents. #newparents #newbornsleep #eatplaysleep #newmom #babysleep
