This is my week, it works for me
That doesn’t mean it will work for anyone else but it gives you an idea of how I plan my training
I start the week with all the more demanding stuff like heavy deadlifts and hard runs
Fridays swim acts as an active rest day because I’m not good enough at swimming to count it as a real workout 🤷🏻♂️😂
Then the weekend is where I put in my less demanding but longer cardio sessions

My old warm up is now my top set
The downside to wanting to be a meat head and be good at endurance races is that sometimes one has to take priority over the other
Big biggest event of the year is done now so the intensity of my strength training can ramp back up
I’ll still be doing a ton of endurance training but I’m able to train like a mest head at the same time again now

A no nonsense way to plan a workout…
▶️ Pick a push exercise for upper body
▶️ Pick a pull exercise for upper body
▶️ Repeat for lower body
▶️ Pick a weight that actually challenges you
▶️ Repeat all exercises until you’re sweating like a lizard

Short on time, but still want results?
2-3 full body workouts and all under 45 minutes is our tried and tested approach
Here’s an example of how we get the most out of a short workout
A) TRAP BAR DEADLIFT 4 x 15,12,10,8
Big compound, work multiple muscles and get lots of weight lifted early on
B) PUSH/PULL super set 4 x 10-15
I like a upper & lower similar to German Body Composition Training
That could be a DB chest press and a DB RDL
C) Opposite Super set 4 x 10-15
Now switch it around, so a pulling upper body and a pushing lower body
DB prone row & Goblet squat work well here
D) Some form of zone 3/4 conditioning
Short sharp intervals of hard cardio efforts on something like a ski-erg for 5-15 minutes depending on time
Keep the rests short throughout the workout and keep the intensity high
