Healing is simple but so often, we make it complicated- not because our authentic selves actually want it to be complicated, but on a subconscious and unconscious level, parts of self may fear (for good reason) the unknown, the change, and the challenges that inevitably lie ahead embedded. By focusing in on the basics, we can send our minds, bodies and lives as a whole a signal of safety. Here, we can directly reclaim our power as we tap into our own intrinsic resources to heal. Let’s talk acne! This is a big topic and one that I work on every single day. Look out for our heartbeat episode coming out on the topic that goes into a deep dive into the topic, resources and my personal journey with acne- which was notably horrific- yet helpful in terms of my personal and professional growth and development. In this video, we cover.. Mindset: know that acne is working for you- if it wasn’t clearing out through your skin, it would be creating many issues and wreaking havoc inside of your body. It simply gives you insight into the imbalances in your body. Diet: try eliminating gluten, dairy, eggs and processed food and eat whole foods rich in nutrients that work for your body. This is a process to figure out, but we can widen the lens and include a wide variety of healthy proteins, fats, and carbs, for you to then tailor to your specifications.  Lifestyle: clean it up as much as possible! This includes cosmetic and environmental factors such as makeup, shampoo, candles, mold and toxic cleaning products as well as everyday choices. Are you moving, playing, sleeping and relaxing? Detoxification: this, at the simplest level, can be defined as the process of removing toxins to optimize function. Are you sweating and having regular bowel movements? I have this 3 ingredient smoothie almost every morning for breakfast- the beauty of eating whole foods, rich in nutrients, is that they are quick, easy and highly stabilizing to the system. This recipe is great for a snack later in the day or to quell a sweet tooth. #letgoandgrow Here is the recipe! 1 cup of califia farms almond milk 1 cup of frozen dark sweet cherries from whole foods 1 scoop of paleopro chocolate collagen powder blend all of the ingredients together, & voila! done. It is certainly not necessary, but you may add in other ingredients to the smoothie as well. I often add the four sigmatic mushroom coffee blend or green foods matcha powder! Dark cherries are the perfect blend between sweet and tart, keeping you full for longer and packed with nutrients. These fruits are a great source of dietary fiber, helping you achieve your daily value of fiber while also gaining the anti-inflammatory benefits of the powerful antioxidants. Think about how easy it is to feel shame and then to isolate, shut off from community, see a psychiatrist and get prescribed anxiety medication- which then swings into depression, low energy, not being able to sleep, sleeping too much, irregular blood sugar levels, weight gain, etc. 7 medications later it’s complicated, and you may find yourself wanting to get to the root.
