Does your little one make up words as they go (even though they already know the sounds)?
This is a GREAT way to break it down for them! This is called “word mapping” or “orthographic mapping” of words - a process of how our brains break down the information/words and put it back together.

Say “you’re so bossy” if you want the 🔗 to my activity on this!
“Bossy-R” makes up of 10% of words in the English language. When there’s a vowel before the /r/ the /r/ takes over and says a new sound.

For example, learning the Bossy-R “er” helps kid read more words like:
