Love is a choice. It’s active, intentional, and the owner of it is the only one who knows it’s power. Loving others, loving self, loving nature, God, or our possessions requires our attention - it’s a relationship.
Sometimes it can feel like a one/way relationship, but it never is. There is an energy to love that is alive, powerful and changes one’s chemistry and the air around us.
Sometimes it is hard to love. The inner critic and comparative voice can take control and we withhold love of self. The jealous part or afraid part comes up and we withhold love from others.
Today, no matter where you are or who you are with, I hope you practice a little more intentional love. To choose it & allow the power of its energy to effect you.
Not to use love to win another’s affection or approval, not to mask emotional wounds and needs with desire for validation, but to just be love, for no reaction or expectation.
It’s never too late, or too soon, to love.
