Kaya was and always will be Ryan’s (pictured here) best friend. Since the day she came home, she has been a loyal hiking companion, and too clever for her own good- including her ability to find any hole in a fence to make an adventurous getaway. She was a protector of her family, but also incredibly loving. She was stubborn and vocal and loved the snow. This snowy background seemed fitting 🧡❄️ Rest easy, Kaya.

Finally Home Senior Dog Rescue and Retirement Home is a 501c3 organization located in North Yarmouth, ME, which provides a loving, permanent home for senior dogs. These dogs are primarily rescues from shelters, or their owners can no longer afford their care. 🧡 They are spoiled, and receive monthly veterinary care, enrichment, and daily walks! He knows no stranger, is the first to say hello and doesn’t know how to be anyone but himself…however dramatic, lazy or sassy he’s feeling that day. His kindness for babies and older folks reminds me of the gentleness and grace hidden in this crazy world. We’ve been to everywhere from Orono to Chicago together and he’s been down for every snack, expect pretzels, along the way.

He loved to sun bath on the deck and lay out when it’s snowing. His fur brother Charlie Flash looked up to him and Ziggy knew it. Ziggy will be missed.♥️”

I can officially announce that my organization, the Tilly Project, is now a nonprofit organization! Truly speechless. I am now the founder of my own nonprofit. I have never been more proud or honored to wear such a title.
The Tilly Project aims to connect pet owners with end-of-life pet photographers across the world and to provide accessible, educational, and supportive resources for photography, anticipatory grief, and pet loss/bereavement.
What started out as just a Facebook group with a handful of individuals and a minimal website with a list of photographers who offer the service, has grown into a supportive community with an extensive WORLDWIDE directory and pet loss resources.
We are currently waiting for 501(c)3 status, so while we wait for this, expect our board and advisory board to be working hard behind the scenes to plan for the Tilly Project's success as a resource to families across the world.
