Some #urbanexploring today in #turku #finland there are holes in the floors, so it’s not the safest place to roam around, but visually stunning. I’ll have to back and make a video too some day. I’m having art workshops with older people, some of them with dementia, and for the first session I brought mandala designs for them to color with watercolors. Quite fun to draw 15 designs at one go. In the end of the video is my own example colored mandala, and the participants’. The last picture is by a person who could barely speak, but they were able to mix colors and paint too! #arttherapy #mandala #mandalaart #carework #artworkshop
I showed my ”I see you” eyes, that I drew as a protest against inhuman asylum processes in 2016, at a We see you-event, and drew four new ones. The music is by the group Soma. Thank you to the people who volunteered for the drawings. Now there are 66 drawings of different people’s eyes. They symbolize our witnessing of how human rights are not respected in many ways in the world. People drowning while trying to escape. People being killed by oppressive regimes. Genocide. Discrimination and inequality. I think sometimes people feel there is no point in saying something about it, because it keeps happening. But we have to use our voices. All voices matter, even if only to say We see you, We don’t accept the oppression and the violence. #humanrights #womanlifefreedom #stophazaragenocide
