Here’s another preview of the legendary @SEAL 👑
This drawing will be fully revealed in London at my 5th solo exhibition titled “Drawing Awareness” in Spring of 2024! The exhibition will highlight a selection of inspirational people I’ve drawn with rare skin visible differences caused by our genetics and environment. I hope to enlighten and draw awareness to the unique and varied designs of our bodies largest organ - our skin 🙏

End of the road with this portrait. It took 4 months to see this piece through. I became painfully attached - holding onto an experience my heart didn’t want to let go of.

It has been a true honour, drawing a man whose music was the soundtrack of my youth! 🙏🏾

Earlier this year I came across an Instagram post from inspirational Afro Media channel NWE. The post featured a series of photographs taken by multidisciplinary artist, Ibukun Akindele, who captured beautiful stills of a lady with Albinism named Shimbe Avalumun Queen.
After reaching out to the artist and muse, I had the pleasure of drawing inspiration from unseen images in their documentary “The Beauty In Skin Diversity”. As I’m also building a body of work highlighting the differences and conditions of skin, this particular project couldn’t have been more aligned.
A big thank you to Ibukan for granting me access to his amazing archive. And a special thank you to Shimbe for wearing her skin so proudly. I hope this drawing adds more awareness to the rare genetic condition known as Albinism.
