My song submission for @npr Tiny Desk is an unreleased ballad called 'C.A.K.E.'
The title C.A.K.E. stands for Careless Actions Killing Everyone, playing on the quote "Let them eat cake" rumored to be made by Marie Antoinette during the French Revolution. It speaks on how abusers of power lack empathy towards the very people they exploit and neglect. I wrote this in 2020 during the pandemic.
I honestly wasn't happy with the video sound quality, so I almost DID NOT submit it. But why let perfectionism get in the way of an opportunity to share my message? I submitted it on the very last day. 😩 Anxiety is really fun when you're an artist. Lol.

Fashion line been loading for 15+ years...it's time to come out of hiding. ❤️ I started drawing as early as I started playing the piano. I remember wishing I could see brown princesses, brown she heroes, brown leading ladies in romance movies, brown models on catwalks...so I decided to create them myself. I drew the gowns I would wear, unlimited by societal constraints. Now I wish to make those designs real. This will be years in the making, but I need help! Any pointers on where to start will be appreciated...
