In April 2022, I started a new collaboration, within my consulting company jsc7engineering.com, as Technical Director of @SaintelocRacing single seaters programs, hiring mechanics and engineers, putting in place top notch motorsport process and procedure coming from decades in @F1. We started with a single car, a toolbox with barely any tools, no setup equipment and not even any jacks to lift the car. Now we have equipment and procedure that only equal to the best in Motorsport, we now run in 5 championships in @F4Spain , @FRegionalAlpine, @Eurocup_3, #FRMEC and #F4UAE . In our first full season in @F4Spain (and single seater), we have won the driver championship with #theophilenael , in front of some of the best and most prestigious racing teams in Europe. It’s race day here in for the #BrazilianGP . Teams have runs hundredths of simulation overnight taking into account the overtaking and tyre model (how easy is it to overtake and degradation vs performance of the tyres), pitlane loss (how much time you loose by putting) and starting grid position. They will come up with several optimum strategies and planned stop (plan A,B,C etc) and include SC window where the drivers can box without notice. It should be a 2 stops and I suspect teams with favour Med over the Soft. But temperature will be lower so we could have some surprise. Will be a good race! #F1 #F1TV #brazilgp
Weather forecast for this weekend in @InterlagosTrack with chance of rain on saturday early morning but weather change very quickly here. Up to 29 deg on Friday and cooler temperature for Sunday (21 deg).
Regarding tyre allocation for this sprint race, teams will have in total 2xH, 4xM and 6xS tyres of the specification C2, C3 and C4.
Challenge for the teams is that they only have FP1 on Friday to fine tune the setup, confirm radiator and brake blanking level, scan tyres...and setup their ride heights to avoid plank wear issue as seen in Austin. Now that FIA is controlling it more regulary, I am sure that teams will be more conservative in their settings. They can decide to run higher ride height or higher tyre pressure for this.
Race tyre strategy should be S for the sprint race and a mix of 2/3 stops on sunday between S and M (Teams will try avoiding the H as per last year).
