Grabbing a little “me time” before packing everything up for church. Discovered another nice little amp combinations that I can play to. I even managed to set up a footswitch combination that allows me play without looking at the board. I had read up about this guitar and discovered that everybody raved about the electronics saying that it was different than other acoustic guitars. So I had to try it out for myself. I plugged it in to my Helix with a Grammatico emulation into a Helios recording chain. I was impressed. It truly sounds like no other acoustic guitar plugged in. I had an enjoyable time walking along the boardwalk of Lake Muskoka, listening to the sounds of the loons singing in the twilight. And of course, Vicky took me to Currie’s. While I followed her around the store, I was anxiously anticipating to see what they had for guitars. When she finally let me upstairs to see the guitars, I started to look around. A few of them caught my eye, but not enough to pull out my wallet. That was until I wrapped my hand around the neck of this one Les Paul. As soon as I wrapped my hand around it, I noticed it felt unlike any other Les Paul that I had played. This guitar felt different. However, I put it back for the time being, and had a look at the rest of the guitars before heading downstairs. I purchased a couple of sets of acoustic guitar strings, seeing as they had my favourite brand and the we walked through downtown. And yet I found myself thinking about that guitar. You know when you find yourself obsessed with one guitar when you walk into another music store and none of the other guitars are doing it for you. Two days later we went to open up Vicky‘s trailer. As I was on a ladder, removing some rocks and a couple of covers from the roof, I asked Vicky if I was crazy if I wanted to try that guitar. Something told me that it was the one. Vicky said I wasn’t crazy and agreed to go back to Currie‘s with me when we finished with the trailer. she can also tell you how anxious I was to try the guitar. And she can especially tell you how anxious I became when it was 20 minutes until closing time. When we got there, I told him which guitar I had my hand on and wanted to try it. They immediately knew which one and we went upstairs and they hooked it in to an amplifier. It didn’t take very long before I bought it. Vicky couldn’t help shooting this video as she saw how happy I was. The time it took to buy this guitar was roughly around the length of the video. That’s how certain I was. My playing was way off, but who cares.

It’s a good thing that I found my favourite set of strings when I did. No sooner after I took the last picture, a string broke. That set only lasted for four days. Everything feels just right with this set of strings.
