I love Google. I use it to look up almost everything that interests me and things that I’m curious about. 

But when I first started to research my confidence issues, I was shocked at what I found (or actually didn’t find). 

No one could tell me where my confidence issues came from, no one could tell me how to figure out this problem that was ruining my life. 

There was no simple, easy-to-follow formula for how to improve my confidence. 

So, I spent the better part of a decade researching and trying different methods that worked sometimes but never really got to the root cause.

When You’re Having “One Of Those Days”….

Becoming confident is not a linear event.

It’s not like you wake up one day and you NEVER have to deal with fear, anxiety and self-doubt ever again…

This is important to remember when you feel like you have a breakthrough or several days or weeks where you feel that being insecure is completely in your past….

And then seemingly out-of-the-blue…

You feel like you are back at step one.

But this couldn’t be further from the truth…

Emotions and setbacks are part of the process.

Feeling an emotion isn’t a reason to stop.

Having a setback doesn’t mean that you have done anything wrong or that your process or plan is not working…

It could just mean that you’re having an off day.

And one off day or off week does not need to turn into a permanent setback.

When I have an off day, I remind myself of a couple things:

1. I am not my emotions.
2. The goal is progress, not perfection.
3. To be patient with myself as I am growing.
4. Setbacks are the stepping stones of success.

If you’re feeling like you are in the middle of a setback… take a break, get outside, stretch you body, go for a walk, clear your head, so you can reset and then start again because failure only happens when you stop trying.
