Today is the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia.

Today, I reflect on the rise of hate that we’re seeing against the 2SLGBTQ+ community around the world and right here in Alberta, where there’s a UCP candidate who compared trans kids to dog feces. Disgusting, reprehensible, and unacceptable.

Choose better this election, Alberta.

And today, and every day, trans rights are human rights.

In the over 12 years I’ve been canvassing, this was one of the best.

Bikes, dogs, cats, an amazing candidate in Bill Tonita, and just the kindest and warmest welcome from folks out on acreages in Strathcona County.

Free prescription contraception is just one of the policies we’ll enact should we form government.

It’s good health policy. It’s good economic policy. It’s the right thing to do.

We can do this, Alberta, but we need you. Volunteer. Donate. Get involved.

And while the UCP want Albertans to rely on health spending accounts and private insurance to meet their basic health needs, the Alberta NDP is focused on strengthening public healthcare for all.

A better Alberta is possible.

And she’s doubling down, arguing that private insurance and health spending accounts are the solution.
