I have always loved the look of these deconstructed video game console frames, but Instagram does not do them justice as they look so much better in person. I have always loved the look of these deconstructed video game console frames, but Instagram does not do them justice as they look so much better in person.

Growing up, I was a massive Game Boy player, and my most cherished Game Boy experiences were with the Pokémon series.

I loved Death’s Door.

Above is a compilation of gameplay from my first playthrough of Death’s Door, along with my favourite soundtrack from the game.

I would easily have Death’s Door pretty high on my list of all-time favourite indie games.

I actually found myself enjoying the game even more when going for the Platinum Trophy, which required beating the game using only the weakest weapon available, the umbrella.

Playing the game on what is essentially hard mode really emphasised the intricacies of combat and made every battle more intense.

It was brilliant.

When has this happened to you? I’d say most video games automatically pause your game in some fashion when your controller runs out of battery, but it’s definitely not all of them. This is especially frustrating when playing on PlayStation 5, as the DualSense controller seems to run out of battery as quickly as it takes to turn it on. There’s nothing more frustrating than failing a boss battle because the game didn’t automatically account for your controller running out of battery. I’d say most video games automatically pause your game in some fashion when your controller runs out of battery, but it’s definitely not all of them.

This is especially frustrating when playing on PlayStation 5, as the DualSense controller seems to run out of battery as quickly as it takes to turn it on.

Have you been playing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom? I’m obsessed🫣😂 As most of you know, I waited to play Tears of the Kingdom until I was on my Uni holidays, and I’m glad I did. I have almost completed 100 shrines, have maximum stamina and a LOT of heart containers, explored the sky, activated 60 light roots, and have been exploring and completing so many side adventures and side quests. I haven’t even touched any of the main story since I returned to Hyrule😂 This game isn’t just a video game. It’s a whole new world (shoutout to Jasmine/Aladdin). I will point out that the first 15-20 hours of the game were a struggle, and I had a similar learning experience in Breath of the Wild. When you get defeated by almost every enemy, have almost no stamina, and don’t have access to any strong weapons, the game is a slog. I have spoken to people who have given up before getting through this section of the game, which is unfortunate. But the truth is, some people don’t have such a lengthy period of time to get to the best part of the game. As most of you know, I waited to play Tears of the Kingdom until I was on my Uni holidays, and I’m glad I did.
