We are so excited to announce that we were able to reunite this mother and baby 3-fingered sloths (Bradypus variegatus).🦥
On October 10, we received a call from Manzanillo National Park letting us know that they found a baby crying on the floor. We went to his rescue and brought him for a check-up with the vet. Fortunately, he was healthy and didn't have any injuries.
The next day, our team went back to the park with the baby and played his cry on a speaker near the place where he was found. After a while, we spotted a sloth reacting to the sound a few meters away. It took around an hour to make the mom come down, but, finally, she did it.
It fills our hearts with love every time we reunite a mom and her baby.

🥹 Guess what? We just had another wonderful mom and baby sloth reunion, and it was beyond heartwarming.
🦥 So, we went to the rescue of this adorable baby sloth at Playa Negra after it fell from a tree. We spotted the mom was up there, but she seemed a bit hesitant to come down. We brought the baby to our clinic for a checkup, and, luckily, the baby was perfectly healthy and ready to go back to its mom.
🤩The very next day, our team returned with our “Speaker Method” to catch mom’s attention. And guess what? It worked again! She started descending from the tree, eager to reunite. When the baby got a sniff of its mom, it dashed straight for some munchies, which was totally unexpected but so heartwarming!
❤️ Seeing them together again, like always, was emotional beyond words.

🦥 Our team rewilded this juvenile 3-finger sloth (Bradypus variegatus) in Congo bongo near Manzanillo.
He arrived a few weeks ago after being found completely wet on the floor. We were not sure if he fell from a tree or wanted to cross the road.
He came with a skin infection and with a lot of ticks. Our vet helped him by removing the ticks and giving him some fluids to keep him hydrated.
When this little one got his strength back, and his skin healed, we knew it was time for him to go back home.

We are excited to announce that 5 more turtles were rewilded. 🐢
🌊 As you may recall, we had 5 turtles left from the 13 we rescued in July. However, on September 10th, the Coast Guard delivered 3 new green sea turtles, another successful rescue from poachers. Thankfully, after careful observation, we found no injuries, allowing us to release them back into their natural habitat.
🤩 So, on September 13th, we released 2 turtles, and on September 19th, 3 more joined their ocean home. So now there are only 2 left to be released from our initial July rescue.
