This group of Penguins on South Georgia was close to 100,000. This particular evening it was foggy, misty and the atmosphere felt extremely raw and otherworldly. You could smell and hear the Elephant Seals and King Penguins from far away through the dense fog.

Preperations to make landfall on South Georgia Islands near Antarctica.
Making sure your gear such as velcro, mesh, boots, bags, pockets are clean and not contaminated is extremely important when going on land at South Georgia Islands. Its important to prevent the spread of invasive & unwanted seeds, microorganisms & insects. Cleaning the bottoms of your boots helps prevent the spread of bird poop from one bird colony to another, which can spread diseases like Avian Flu. #southgeorgiaisland #oceanwideexpeditions #antarctica #expedition

This summer we’ve had about 5 walruses visiting Iceland. This walrus right here arrived in the Westfjords at the beginning of summer and most likely hitched a ride on some sea ice that made its way from the East Coast of Greenland to the Westfjords. Once he saw land he made his way into Arnarfjörður. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time and stumbled across him not even knowing he was here.
